1. How long before the floor coating will wear out?
Generally 15-20 years with normal foot traffic.

2. Does the floor get slippery?
Yes when water or oil is present. Aluminum oxide non skid is recommended to combat this condition.

3. What are the flake chips for?
They help with nonslip and help hide imperfections in the floor by adding a decorative look.

4. Do the flake chips wear out?
No more than the coating generally.

5. Should we put aluminum oxide nonskid in the floor in addition to the chips?
If the conditions present water or oil, we recommend it.

6. Does the nonskid wear out?
Yes in approx. 5 years

7. Does the nonskid make the floor harder to clean?
Yes if you mop the floor it will be harder. No not much harder if you wash the floor with a hose and squeegee.

8. Does aluminum oxide cost extra?
No

9. Does crack and mortar joint patching cost extra?
Generally no, unless it becomes excessive.

10. Does crack\mortar joint patching crack or peel?
All concrete moves. Mortar joints\saw cuts are engineered to allow for the movement of concrete. Cracks are the cause of more movement than the mortar joints\saw cuts will allow for. Due to this cracks\mortar joints\saw cuts can be patched but there is no guarantee that they will not move in the future, therefore causing a crack in the epoxy patch. Generally this will simply be a small crack that will not chip or peel from the concrete.

11. Does the concrete need to be clean before we have Performance apply the coating?
The floor should be swept clean and oily areas should be cleaned with a detergent and scrubbed as clean as possible before we enter the job site.

12. Does everything need to be out of the garage before we have Performance install the coating?
Yes in all areas you wish to have coating applied. We can cut in around equipment if you don't have a problem with that.

13. How long does the standard coating take to apply, including preparation?
Generally 1, but 2 days at the most in most cases.

14. How long does it take to dry?
24 hours foot traffic, 2 days for movement and car traffic at 65 degrees F or higher.(longer at cooler temperatures)

Most floor coating epoxies are not Cycloaliphatic 100% solids. They are the most expensive to manufacture. They can cost up to 4x the amount of other epoxies to manufacture. Epoxy-Coat is the same quality of epoxy as is used in the most demanding industrial / commercial floors. In fact approx. 60% of industrial / commercial floors use a less quality Aliphatic 100% solids epoxy in their applications.
